Otodate

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 5, 2026

This policy explains what information Otodate (“we”) handles and why. It covers repair shops that use Otodate and the vehicle owners who follow their vehicle through it.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email, shop name and shop phone number.
  • Shop content: what your team enters about vehicles: plate, make and model, the owner’s nickname and mobile number, notes, photos, status updates and recorded answers.
  • Usage and device data: which phone and browser signed in, when, and what was done, plus basic technical data such as IP address, used for security and to prevent abuse.
  • Payment details: handled by our payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers.

How we use it

To run Otodate, keep it secure, prevent abuse, process payments, provide support, improve the service, and meet legal obligations. We don’t sell personal information and we don’t show ads.

Vehicle owners

The repair shop decides what is recorded about your vehicle and is responsible for it; we handle it on the shop’s behalf. You see your vehicle only after scanning the shop’s QR code and entering your mobile number, and your number is never shown on the page. For questions or requests about your information, contact the shop. We’ll help them respond.

Who we share it with

Only with providers that help us run Otodate (hosting, database, storage, payments and email), under agreements that protect your information; when the law requires it; or as part of a merger or sale of our business, under this same policy.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run Otodate, such as keeping you signed in and letting a vehicle owner’s phone remember their vehicle for a few days. No advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

While your account is open. When a shop is closed, its data is deleted; copies may remain in backups for a short time before they expire. We keep billing records as long as the law requires.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards such as encryption in transit, access controls and limits on repeated attempts. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can view and correct your details in the app, and close your shop or delete your account in Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your information. To use them, contact us using the details on our website.

Where your data is processed

Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. We take steps so it stays protected wherever it is processed.

Children

Otodate is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy and will note the date above. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email.
